The Bible exhorts that we "preach the word...for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine..." (2 Timothy 4:2-3)

Here at Chapel-by-the-Sea Baptist Church we hold this task in a spirit of humility and great honor. We have been entrusted with the sharing and spreading of God’s “scripture seeds” around the world. The element of faith comes from the hearing of God’s word,(Romans 10:17).

Our desire is to make known the whole counsel of God as it is presented in God’s word. It is our task to set forth what God reveals in His word in a simple and straightforward manner. We trust that as you read and listen to these posted messages we pray that you will be blessed and challenged as God’s Spirit speaks to your heart.

If it is possible we would be honored to hear from you. These messages have been posted along with outlines of each message for your further study. If we can help you in your study of God’s word please let us know.

Our heart’s desire is to simply make Jesus known to all who have heard of His love and amazing grace.

The resurrection of Jesus was discovered by the women on the 1^stday of the week following the weekly Sabbath which is the 7^th day of the week. When we add 1 to 7 we get 8. The insights into the 8^th Day Assembly are embedded in the original 7 Feasts of the Lord as presented in Leviticus 23. at the end of the cycle of these feasts there was the call for one more assembly. This assembly foreshadows the 8^th day, a time of new beginning. the number 8 points us to the reality of a new beginning or a new creation. this new beginning was marked by the resurrection of Jesus from the grave. As we worship on the 1^st day of the week, the Lord's Day, we do so to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. The Sufferings of Christ would begin with His entrance into the Garden of Gethsemane and would continue until His death at Calvary. What really happened in the garden? Jesus prayed that the "cup" would pass from Him but resolved to do God's will nonetheless. Let us learn the lessons of the garden experience. As Jesus hung on the Cross He cried, "It is finidshed!" Is it really finished? Is our salvation fully met in the sacrifice of Jesus? The writer of Hebrews deals with this issue in Hebrews10:10-14. We learn that the sacrifice of our Lord was "once for all." His death is the final sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. There is nothing that must be added to or taken away from what Jesus accomplished for us a Calvary.
